Honestly, I think this is due in large part to DS. It has the biggest base, lowest costs, and is basically the platform the entire industry turned to this gen. If DS didn't exist, I think a LOT more support would be going to Wii right now and would have been the past few years.
Same story to some degree with PSP and PS3 imo. Really, in some ways I think Nintendo and Sony have been their own worst enemies.
