Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sega publishing Gladiator AD

Bad name, probably a bad game as well.

Around the Network

I prefer Gladiator A.D. it stands out as a name, the other sounds very generic.

I am not surprised.

so much for Sega saying we aint gonna do more mature titles...

i don't like the looks of the characters, i prefer the original, i was gonna buy it then now im having second thoughts.. the grinder looks great though

The gameplay matters more than the name here. Remember how much hate the name "Wii" actually mattered in the long run?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

I just can't believe that it's gone from looking like one of the visually best looking games on the Wii:

To this:

The gameplay has also changed for the worse imo, when it was announced at E3 last year HVS said that the fighting mechanics were Bushido Blade meets Fight Night...and now we're looking at a lame Punch Out!!! style gameplay.

And just when I thought it couldn't possibly get any worse they've decided to ditch online multiplayer.

I was going to buy this on day one going by what I'd seen and heard about it last year...now I won't touch it with a barge-pole. Just what were they thinking..?!?

This is going to fail miserably.

Fail game is failtastic.

After seeing those new screens, I'm not buying it. Way to sell out HVS.

Sega: We'll publish it on one condition. You have to make it suck.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

Graphics seem OK..but what the hell is up with the 2D-plane character movement.. that totally ruins the game. Completely.

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
