Last year Shams did a 10 week countdown with a discussion on the last weeks of the year and some predictions on how each week would pan out. This year I am extending it to include more for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Basically this thread can be a discussion about what we all expect for the last ten weeks of the year, and anyone willing can make a prediction for the run of weeks. (see next post for how to make predictions)

The way the weeks lay this year is a little odd, as what I am classing as the last week will span into the new year (week ending January 3rd) here is some information on the weeks and what lies in them. (keep in mind that the "week ending" date refer to the Saturday, which is when tracking weeks end for America and Europe, but Japan tracking ends on a Sunday)

If anyone wants to add any other information or games releasing that you think may affect the sales please post.

Predictions

Here are 3 tables with the weeks and predictions people make (I will add a column for anyone brave enough to predict the full set)
Anyone predicting please post your predictions for each of the 10 weeks (for whichever console you wish) before the first weeks set of data starts appearing (likely 3rd or 4th November) This gives you time to check out each of the companies fiscal reports for the past quarter, which are all due out at the end of October, these may help in estimating how many consoles the big three expect to be shipping during the quarter. You can edit your predictions up until the first weeks data comes in, but after that they will remain.

Where is ToS: DotNW

It fluctuates a bit, but usually around 35 to 45% of all sales for the year happen between the end of October and the end of December. To wit, last year's percentages were 34.94% of Wii sales, 42.38% of PS3 sales, and 38.09% of 360 sales in the weeks between the weeks ending 9 Nov and 28 Dec; if it were possible to get a breakdown from 31 Oct to 31 Dec, it'd be even closer to 35% to 45%.

That said, with estimated data inputted for the rest of the weeks of October, the spreadsheet gives me these projections:

Wii: 9,417,830 to 14,074,812
PS3: 4,677,739 to 6,985,509
360: 3,490,690 to 5,281,391

They'll probably turn out to be not too terribly accurate, because 2008 has done its damnedest to not to be anything like 2007, but we'll see.
