Forums - Gaming - Most Tragic Cancellations/Indefinite Postponements

What games were you looking forward to the most that never ended up materializing?

Off the top of my head, I was really looking forward to the new Perfect Dark, the new TLOU MP game, the cancelled version of Prey 2, Star Wars 1313, and Rockstar's Agent. Oh, I was really looking forward to Mudang as well but it sounds like it's been effectively cancelled too. :*(

Hbu?

Prey 2 was a damn shame.

Would also loved to have seen Retro Studios' Raven Blade see completion as it looked incredibly promising

Perfect Dark and StarCraft Ghosts for me. At least what I can remember off the top of my head.

Steambot Chronicles is my favourite game, so its sequel being cancelled in the wake of the tsunami is still the one that hurts the most for me.

It maybe just a StarFox Clone but it meant more to me back then. It was the game that showed next gen to me next to Shenmue. The sleek UI. Amazing graphics. Full on physics systems (novel at the time. I needed this game. It was cancelled. Coflictiing reports as to why from generic didn't meat SEGA's standards (bullshit, some of the stuff released lol) but one of the devs talked about how Yuji Naka pulled rank to have the game killed to use the engine for possible future Sonic Team projects. Knowing how much of a dick Yuji Naka is and some of the shit he pulled on Sonic Xtreme I believe it.   There is a build online but it's far from finished. Even the dev said what is online is not what the final state of the project was before being cancelled. I am still mad to this day and I always post it in topics like this for over 20 years lol. I will do so until I die.

Skylanders 7. Easily the worst for me. Game gotten canned according to Liam Robertson due to poor sales for Imaginators. Keep in mind, Skylanders was the only franchise I was playing for many years at that point… utterly crushed! Franchise has yet to return.

As a big Starfox fan, it's painful to see this; I'd never heard of it before but it looks awesome.

Mega Man Legends 3.

Earthbound 64 (the Mother 3 prototype.)

Also second MML3, as above, I hope Capcom revives the project for current consoles.

Probably TloU Factions. Easily an MP game I could've (maybe, hard to tell) spent hours on after having played many hours in the original on both PS3 and PS4.

Otherwise, can't really think of anything. Will make another post if I do.
