Forums - Gaming - Games You Want to love, but can't

Basically, games you want to love, but just don't.  For me difficulty is a killer.  I can solo all Soulsborne via NG+4, some NG+5, but Sekiro.  I want to love the game.  I love the concept, but god I hate that game.  I just can't get good at it.  Battletoads on the NES is another.  Conceptually the game is amazing, but the difficulty and flatly broken coop is a deal breaker.

Any games people want to love but just can't because of whatever reasons?

I'd love to be able to get into Smash Bros as it seems really well made for what it is, but fighting games just don't do it for me.

Similarly, I wish I could get into turn based games, but no matter how many times I try, I just can't enjoy them. Which sucks as I'd really like to be able to enjoy stuff like Sea of Stars, Mario + Rabbids, Lost Odyssey, the Octopath Traveler games, etc.

Want to love is hard to think really but maybe the best example is Street Fighter.

I like fighting games, Tekken is one of my favourite series. Star Gladiator is one of my favourite games and has so much fun playing 2 player vs on things like MvC and buy every other MK game. And yet only really played 1 SF game, SNES classic 2 Turbo. I have EX, 3, 4. Played 5 and 6, none of them stick. So I go back to Tekken and every other MK. :P

Hmm, pie.

Git gud
(I have yet to play Sekiro tho lol)

I have no rhythm, Sekiro is like punch out more than souls.

You'll probably fell awesome once you get it right tho.

Remember playing Nioh on release day and even tho it was really hard, a whole lot harder than Souls, when I clicked with Dual Katanas it was such an awesome experience, felt like a pro, nothing was touching me.

When I got back years later to try the DLCs I didn't even remember how to play it even decently tho lol, never played the DLCs because of that.

I'm awful with Sekiro too, maybe I'm just masochist for keep trying to git gud, love the game tho even if I suck at it

My choice is Kingdom Come Deliverance. On paper the game is everything I want, but it's saddely played in first person and I generally have issues with long sessions of first person games

I want to give sekiro a try on pc. I hear the locked 60 fps helps a lot.
