Seems it got a nice holiday boost. Also just a reminder that games that often appear outside of the top 10/20 are actually still legging it out and reach great overall numbers. That's part of why I think a lot of people are surprised when Sony comes out and announces X or Y title has sold 10m, 20m etc

Nice to know Astro is selling pretty well. It's an amazing game and one of the best platformers available on todays systems.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

It's always in the best selling games around here in Brazil on sites that keep a ranking like Amazon and Mercado Livre.

It's PS5 #10 on Amazon right now even having no discounts currently and it's being twice as expensive as most of the other games on the top 10, as it is sold out on the Amazon own listing and only being sold by third party stores.

Same on Mercado Livre, it's #7 on the Sony listing even as it's only being sold by third party stores and not the official Playstation store there as it's sold out.

It's selling on par with the likes God of War, The Last of Us and Spiderman which are by far the best selling games on those platforms (and probably on Brazil as a whole by extension), even as it's always the more expensive from those (and WAY more expensive when those are discounted).

Hmm why would it not be selling?

Plenty of games are front loaded or crawl to halt sales wise, so just bringing attention to the fact that the game is placing good positions during the best selling software weeks of the year,  15th months after it launched. You will not see many games from fall 2024 in this top 40.

There was a recent discussion on the Japanese thread where someone suggested it has only sold 2.5m (unreliable estimates) and there was some lament that the game didn't do as well as it should have.

Also there was the thread regarding it vs Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, a lot of people discounted Astro because it had a soft opening but as we can see its having much healthier legs than Zelda.

I'll add that I'm sure physical game sales here in Brazil are pretty low overall, games are really expensive, so I wouldn't count it as a reliable source to project good worldwide sales, at all.

But it is at least generating similar interest and sales as the best selling physical games around here, even as the actual numbers might be low. I would love to know if it apply to digital sales as well.

Have we underestimated the demand for family-friendly games on PlayStation?

As much as I love the idea that Astro Bot is still selling incredibly well, this is only the UK. It would be great if this was represented worldwide. In the US, the game is barely in the top 60.

Still great to see that certain regions are still buying the game!

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

As it should. It's quite the platformer and my personal favorite out of this sparse, nearly barren generation of games. Probably one of, if not the last great platformer developed pre-AI. A fitting finish.

Basically all Sony First-party games have huge legs. I mean, maybe something like Returnal doesn’t, but we don’t have any data to determine if that’s the case or not.

These days most games have legs. It’s really only the very Japanese games that don’t. Pokémon, Monster Hunter(World did though), Final Fantasy, Dragon’s Dogma 2 etc.
