Metroid Prime is a series mostly played by those who are (i) diehard Nintendo or (ii) care a lot of high specs. That said, I’m thinking Switch 2 will win this one… though I could definitely see NS1 pulling ahead simply because it has such a massive installbase by comparison.
(However, technically the Switch 1 is a better deal: You get a game playable on both your Switch 1 & Switch 2 with the graphical patches; whereas Switch 2 edition cannot be played in Switch 1 (and features a very…um…not great looking wall if text at the bottom of its box art).)
I picked Switch 2 because despite the smaller user base the type of game it is almost demands that you upgrade to the Switch 2 to play it optimally. This is a reason to upgrade to the next gen and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. Switch 1 may be in the lead at launch or 3 months in but I think the Switch 2 wins in the end.
Tough one to call. The Switch has a massive install base, but the Switch 2 version offers a fun new control scheme and the Switch 2 is very popular.

Probably that at least 90% of sales will be on Switch 1 and very probably it will sell better than any other Metroid, maybe even better that some of them combined given the fact that are around 150 millions of Switches on the market.
It will sell at least twice as much on the Switch 2 (probably a lot more than twice). Switch 1 is on its way out.
How many crossgen games (not annual) sold better on an old platform than its popular successor? I can't think of any. I'm guessing it happened with annual releases like early crossgen sports games and COD.

The numbers I remember from previous PS/Xbox generation shifts is that the new gen version of games almost immediately starts selling better than the last gen version. At least at launch. But since Metroid buyers are relatively hardcore, I expect it will stay that way.
The ratio should favour the Switch 2 version a lot more than Legends Z-A with how much hardcore the fanbase of the former is. If someone has waited nearly 20 years for the next Prime game they're likely gonna wanna play the best version of it at either 4K or 120fps.
They have basically buried the NS1 version on promotional material in favour of the NS2 version. This alongside the much better visuals, the decay of the SW1 as a platform for new games and the natural momentum of NS2 will probably make the sales 2 to 1 in favour of the NS2 version.
