Forums - Movies & TV - Next ‘Superman’ Movie ‘Man Of Tomorrow’ Gets Summer 2027 Release Date

Following the massive success of Superman, DC Studios is moving fast on its next film revolving around the Man of Steel as it has dated Man of Tomorrow to bow on July 9, 2027.

James Gunn is back writing and directing, with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult expected to return as Superman/Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, respectively.

Gunn made the announcement on social media Wednesday with an original image of Superman and Lex Luthor drawn by Jim Lee. This comes as the latest film Superman crossed the $600 million marker at the worldwide box office; the film’s current gross is $611 million global.

Next 'Superman' Movie To Open Summer 2027

I'm kinda hoping they bring in Bizarro Superman.

Thats great, cause this version of Superman is good.

The Gunn never jams!

Surprisingly fast turn around. I'm curious to see how the Gunnverse shapes out.

Too soon. Should introduce some other standalone characters first (not including Supergirl). Also this movie made less than Man of Steel which totaled $670M WW unadjusted for inflation. Despite a bigger Domestic Box Office (again not taking inflation into account) this movie really was not a home run launch of a new franchise based on ticket sales.
