Forums - Nintendo - Games that never made it to the 3DS/DS

So I still regularly play my DS and 3DS. There’s quite a few games that I wish would’ve come to the system. Some I know why they did, others, I’m not really sure. Here’s a few off the top of my head that I have been thinking of.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and Code Veronica on the DS made in the style of Deadly Silence, I enjoyed the Rebirth mode in that one, I know that Deadly Silence didn’t really move many copies, so I see why that didn’t get made.

Resident Evil 4 on the 3DS. I’m really surprised they never brought that over, they seemed to be porting it to every console known to man, just blows my mind they never put that on there.

I would’ve liked to see more 64 titles on the 3DS in the vein of ocarina of time, starfox, etc. this was another surprise, as they seemed to sell pretty well on the system.

Crazy that we never got another Tales of game on the 3DS other than Abyss, I remember seeing an article where Namco stated that Abyss exceeded expectations and they would like to put more on there, but it never happened.

Was really hoping that we would’ve gotten another trilogy of Metroidvania Castlevanias on the 3DS like we did with DS and the GBA, but for whatever reason Konami didn’t want ti touch the franchise after the mirror of fate game.

Anyone else have any more DS/3DS wishes that they wanted back in the day? When I think of more, I’ll add em!

Mega Man Legends 3. It was in development. Capcom asked fans to pay $5 for a demo. Fans said they would. Capcom canned the game and blamed the fans. Mega Man is still stuck on the Moon.

ASH DS English version. The English translation was done. It was a new RPG from Mistwalker. Released in Japan, but supposedly Reggie canned the English release after a focus group complained this Strategy Fantasy themed RPG didn't have guns.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

On the DS I can't think of any game it should have had. 3DS on the other hand, is a whole different matter as the games library wasn't that impressive compared to DS. They shoud've continued with the touch generations.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

RE4 on 3DS would have been interesting to see; the system should have been capable of it, as it wasn't that far behind the Gamecube or PS2 in power.

Considering how well N64 remakes like Starfox 64, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask turned out on it, it would've been cool to see the original Sin & Punishment get remade on it with touch aiming. Heck, port Sin & Punishment 2 as well while you're at it.

An actual all new Starfox would be nice as well, and a new F-Zero too, though personally I would have rather both come to Wii/Wii U/Switch where I could have played them on the big screen with a more comfortable controller.

Yeah Legends 3, I remember waiting for the demo too, I was gonna get it cause I really wanted legends 3, Capcom is the masters of trying to gauge interest on Nintendo consoles by dangling games with conditions. I feel like they announced the game but were like “wait a sec we don’t really want to do this, let’s blame the fans”. I’m also surprised they didn’t port legends 1 and or 2 to gauge the interest.

That reminds me, they should’ve continued the 3D classics line too. Do you remember the E3 reel of classic games in 3D?

Not only that but even if they needed to dumb RE4 down they could have, remember the Zeebo edition lol

Still very angry about Legends 3.

A remake of Paper Mario on 3DS. DS might've been a bit pointless with how similar the specs are to N64. 3DS would've delivered a better-looking game besides the screen's low resolution.
