Forums - Movies & TV - Worst videogame movie adaptation? (Now with Borderlands!)

Tagged games:

Just as the title says. Now that the Borderlands movie is breaking all sorts of records (in all the wrong ways lol) has it become the worst vg movie ever for you?

I'm not a Borderlands fan so I'm sticking with Max Payne as my most despised vg adaptation. I'm totally biased though, Max Payne 1 & 2 are two masterpieces and the way that movie butchered the first game will forever piss me off!

Uwe Boll's "House of the Dead" is probably the worst movie I've ever seen, video game adaptation or not.

I haven't seen the Borderlands movie but, as someone who loved the first two games, the casting alone pissed me off. It was obvious from the start that the people making the movie didn't care.

I likes borderlands. Noo waay its the worst.

I would have to see Borderlands to say, but the 80s to 2000s had plenty of just plain piles of stink. I think now that you add the history of the Mario game and nostalgia it is loki g better after 30 years, but even that movie is still bad.

But it is based on others perception too I guess. I love Jean claude van Damme, used to be my go to avatar here before I went full Evil Dead. So Street Fighter and Raul Julias over the top performance and the reasons for him being in it are reasons I actually enjoy that movie.

Answer: House of the Dead.

Japan probably has something much worse in their video game adaptation catalogue.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

One of those Uwe Boll flicks, like Alone in the Dark. Ewww.

As bad as the Borderlands adaptation is, I think Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is still the worst-ever video game adaptation not to carry Uwe Boll's fingerprints, and I would be very surprised if it ever loses that title.

As for the worst one among Boll's efforts, I'm actually going to go against the grain and say that Far Cry is the worst. Most of his other efforts are at least hilariously awful, but Far Cry is just a massive grind to sit through.

So.much ground to cover here, but I agree with the sentiment for House of the Dead. Considering they already had a plotline they could've adapted from the game ... They messed up their original story BADLY

Doom comes to mind as well
