Forums - Sales Discussion - Palworld has sold over 5 million copies in just 3 days

I thought this had potential after seeing the initial trailers and knew it was gonna be successful after seeing streamers try it out a few days ago but damn it's blowing up big time and is about to become the 6th game ever to reach 1 million concurrent players on Steam. This is likely gonna be one of the best selling games of the year and could even become a Pokemon level sales success with enough time which is nuts.

Cheque from MS might be significant to prevent to be released on PS consoles.

That's interesting because the initial contract certainly would not of been a permanent console exclusive as this felt like a tad gamble , so at this point will Sony be throwing their hat in the ring too to try and prevent any new contracts being signed? Or maybe they might not need to as 3m in 40hours might make additional MS money feel less enticing as their revenue will be approaching $200m as we're currently speaking. Will be interesting to see. For sure it'll be an asset to game pass though

As a primary Playstation/Nintendo gamer I hope MS doesn't grab DokeV. That game is looking more my taste

Love that this has happened to a Japanese developer too

This proves Pokemon formula works..... when done by others as well.
Its time for Game Freak, to step up their game, they cant just keep skateing by, with low effort games anymore.
(If they do, eventually, someone will come by and eat a peice of the pie)

It has now tripled the peak player count of Starfield. It has also passed baldursgate and hogwarts peaks.

If it was released in 2023 it would have been the biggest steam launch of the year.

Yep Steam Charts currently has it at 990,000 players.
With its Peak going above 1,000,000 concurrent players.

BG3 hit 875k+, however seems Palworld is bigger than that.
If it keeps selling like this (for a few more months), its another 20m+ seller title.

Yeah, just find it interesting.

PS5 could be the 2nd best selling version after PC and Xbox a distant third, but the Gamepass money made them console exclusive for the time being. I hope it gets ported sooner rather than later.

Isn't it more a case of it being an early access title or "game preview" as Xbox labels them. IIRC Playstation has missed getting a few games straight away because they don't have early access stuff on their platform. Space Engineers, Ark, Atlas, Craftopia, Valheim.

Space Engineers and Ark eventually came to PlayStation but not until after leaving early access on steam. The other titles like Craftopia, Valheim and Atlas are all still in early access.

Well, more like the Ark formula. Though I wouldn't mind seeing more Pokémon-like elements being introduced.

As for GF, blame TPC for giving them so little of those sweet Pokédollars. And, looking at the S/V sales, I doubt much will change.
