Forums - Sony Discussion - Signs of a new PS5 start appearing in stores

Could be the PS5 Slim that Microsoft mentioned they believe is coming this year in the court documents from the Activision Blizard trial.

The person who leaked the portable Playstation also said Sony are planning to announce a new PS5 model in August.

Isn't that the supposed model with no disc drive but that can get an external separated disc drive to become the "standard" PS5?
I don't believe we will get the Slim this year.

That is probably what the "Slim" is lol.

Could be either, or both. But Microsoft were oddly specific about the Slim, down to the price and timeframe of release.

I love my ps5 but Christ is it a tank.

Slim model will be greatly appreciated

I don't have a PS5 yet, partially because I expected a Slim soon, so I hope that's what this is.

I have my doubts about Sony separating the disc drive while keeping the form of the console itself intact. I'm not sure whether this is going to the the slim model or not, but if I absolutely had to bet, I'd bet my money on this being the slim model.

How much money does it save not having a disk drive? $30?

I doubt it, the Slim shall be a redesign to use different components and a different and smaller form factor to make it cheaper to produce, while this one should be just focused on phasing out the digital only version with another one that physical support for a disc drive.
