I guess the PS5 doesn't seem so big since I'm used to moving both my PS5 and gaming PC and my PS5 is much lighter and easier to move.

I bet it's delayed to 2024 or cancelled, Would make sense if you have one to release it with FF7 part 2 and preferable before Switch 2.

With the rumors of the Switch 2 and XBX slim coming out next year it's probably best to hold off until next year as well.

Well, we are closing in on the end of the year with no word. Although they're still trying to sell off extra PS5's by bundling in free games like GOD Ragnarok. But that could be just to meet their sales projections for the quarter.

So sadly, I'm not expecting it anymore this year.

There wont be any *true slim for PS5, ever, the same for Xbox Series. There would be only a "slim" *version for PS5 soon and for Xbox Series next year.

The advancement in CPU/GPU/APU shrink have stopped in the way it was in the previous generations. Now, any move forwards toward a new die shrink is barely incremental but would cost hundreds of millions of dollars, money that MS and Sony dont want to bleed simply because they wont make it back since the new CPU die are so expensive and people wont pay for a $600+ console.

Never give up hope! The new models were just announced on the PS Blog. Coming this November.

Glad my comment from a few days ago didn't age well. I really thought they were pushing it to next year or something at this rate.
Although they're not calling it Slim, so there may be an actual Slim model later at some point. But at least this has a 1 TB drive, and probably newer internals.

I'm surprised - both at the slim model actually coming out this year after all, and at the price as well. The price is absolutely awful, this is 100 % for Sony's profit, it seems. I had some hopes, but I'll definitely pass for now.
