Konami has announced the Konami 50th Anniversary Collection series for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.  

The series consists of three digital-only collections—Konami Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics, Castlevania Anniversary Collection, and Contra Anniversary Collection. Konami Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics is due out first on April 18, followed by Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Contra Anniversary Collection in the early summer.

Hopefully this will lead to more collections of the later versions/installments of the games and further series like Metal Gear, Suikoden and Silent Hill.

I wish these announcements would be accompanied by a price point. It's really hard to get hyped until you know how much you'll be shelling out for each. I'm guessing $19.99, which isn't terribly, but at $9.99 or $14.99 it'd be very enticing. Just our luck, though, and they'll want $29.99 or $39.99 for each, especially given that several titles for each collection are still "coming soon."

It's a shame this will come with Castlevania III's american version, but hey, it's better than nothing.

Going by the Classics collection - its $20.

 

So I'm assuming its gonna be around that price range or $30.

 

Probably $40 for the more recent titles kinda like Capcom's pricing.

The arcade classics has a $19.99 price point, so I guess that's gonna be what they cost. However, since the other don't have a price yet, that can still change for them.

Also, why no physical version of those? I'm sure many would love to buy these physically.

Ooooooh, this is perfect timing since there was just a thread a few days ago about which biggest franchises you haven't played and it made me think about how Castlevania is one of those for me due to how hard it is to find where to start the originals without going to an older system usually

will gladly buy on Steam eventually, excited to finally try it

Really disappointed with the Arcade Classics and that they are digital only. Im still getting the Castlevania and Contra ones though.
