The last AC game I played was Assassin's Creed: Black Flag back in early 2014. I'm a bit curious about the newer entries of the series and was wondering what you guys recommend between the latest two entries?

I have played both and still trying to finish odyssey. Both are differrent type if games. Origins was the step in the right direction that series needed and Odyssey further improves on it.
I prefer odyssey as its finally a proper rpg! And it works really well. The game is mire story driven. Combat requires skill. Hard mode is finally lives up to its name as u have loot to keep up with your gear.
Game is also massive. I am currently lvl 26 and 42 hours in on hard and i am only 26% in terms of storu completion!
Of the two, I definitely think Odyssey is better. Better characters, better gameplay, more player choice, naval combat returns as a main feature (Origins only had it for a few missions).
just completed origins + DLC, favorite of the series. I've yet to play Odyssey, but i can't imagine it being better for me. I really liked being in Egypt, bayak is now my fave and i never for a moment felt bored in that game. It's honestly my favorite ps4 i've played, even with the likes of uncharted, horizon and god of war (ooooh i know thats blasphemy).

Interesting. Did you play AC2 when it first came out? That has remained my favourite in the series by far all this time. But then again, I've only played 1, 2, Brotherhood, first few hours of 3, and Black Flag.
I think Origins is a better game. Odyssey goes into RPG-territory way to hard in my opinion. Something like player-choice is something i don't want in Assassin's Creed, i prefer it to have a set protagonist with a set story
Nothing to see here, move along

I did and have played all of them from release. When 2 came out i was blown away at the improvement and still really like it to this day, but brotherhood of the ezio series is my favorite. The only AC i didn't care for was Unity

They're both very good but the question you should ask is how much do you like wRPGs?
Origins takes influence from Witcher 3. Odyssey goes heavier into the RPG with more player choice and extra naval combat (if you liked Black Flag then Odyssey is an evolved form of the ship combat).
Personally I prefer Odyssey. Story is just as good and I like both settings, but Odyssey has taken the ideas in Origins and run with them.

AC2 was brilliant for the time. Actually, the whole Ezio trilogy was very well conceived.
I've played nearly all of the mainline entries (barring Unity), and Origins and Odyssey are the first time I've felt excited about the series since Black Flag.
But RPGs are my favorite genre (see my previous post).
