Maybe exclusive themes and avatars, but not games that would be stupid
like a exclusive themes or avatars at set levels

Call me crazy, but I think the platinum on your account and bragging rights are the reward...
Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Maybe the day they aren't hackable which is NEVER.

Not everyone cares for PS+ goodies, nor does everyone have PS+

There is also absolutely no need to have trophies and yet Sony does have them.
There is also absolutely no need for an online fee and yet Sony does have it. (it just exists because they dont want people to host their own servers like they can on PC because they could not charge a fee if that would be the case. Same with MS btw)
So why not give trophies a purpose? Make trophies unlock game content. Get rid of the nonsensical trophies like kill a bazillion things or play 1000k matches and do it more like the "wall of unlockables" in smash or in games like Time Splitters (realistic challenge that does NOT waste your time and the result is more characters in multiplayer mode or paintball mode etc). Or as other people said wallpapers and themes for the consoles menus etc.
The only thing I can do with trophies etc right now is "hey look me e-penis is longer than yours" and thats nothing a person older than 13 should want to do.
Sony should give a reward to people buying their first party games, maybe do it in sets for every year, so if you e.g. bought Infamous SS, TLOU:R, Driveclub and LBP3 in 2014 you get access to some exclusive themes and avatars, get a little icon next to your PSN name that represents you completing the 2014 set and you get like $10 on your PSN account.
Also those rewards should get better if you complete more sets, for example you get a permanent 5% discount on everything on the PS Store if you completed 5 sets or something. .
Giving away money never really makes business sense.
I do agree though that trophies should be made to have more value. I would suggest that they use it as a selection process for closed betas. So basically if you are over level 10 and apply for a closed beta you get in. Good for the Betas cause that way they get testers that are most passionate about how they play their games. Or devs can make a custom dynamic theme that is exclusive to people that got a platinum in their game.

I agree with this. The devs could just set up some unlockable DLC or something when you get trophies/achievements. It shouldn't be up to ms, sony or nintendo.
That would be a terrible business decision. The most they should do is offer in game rewards for trophies but they don't even need to do that. People that get trophies get them cause they like coecting them.
