Forums - Microsoft - Italic Prediction: Microsoft will announce something about XB1 Nov Sales

Microsoft will say something meaningful about XB1 Nov sales

Microsoft has been fairy quiet about the Xbox Ones sales this year, which is understandable considering the current circumstances. What they have said are things that are pretty insignificant, such as zombies killed, cummulative hours spent on a game, or even combining Xbox console sales.

With the variety of holiday deals, Xb1 is prepped to move more units then it has before this year likely even ending the PS4's NPD streak.

Regardless of the outcome, I think its likely that Microsoft will say something substaintial about XB1's november sales, they need all the good PR that they can get and Black Friday is what boosted it over the PS4 last year's NPD.

By substantial, I mean a number bound of sold units, i.e We sold (more than) x million units of the Xb1 in the Month of November. Saying something like we sold more than ever before works as well because we know what the most they've sold in a month is.

Saying we sold well or any other attempts at obscuration does not count.

What doest thou think?

Well, they seem to be bound a little by the rules regarding traded companies. So, they are generally careful to not say anything unless it is good and accurate. So, they will bring it up, but NPD for november will not be out til mid december. THe chance of having any meaningful impact is small.

It is near the end of the end....

They will win November NPD, so that will be their PR. They may also say that sales are up over last November worldwide if they manage to do so.

I still don't think they will announce any rough numbers worldwide though for the month. If they announce worldwide numbers for November, they know Sony could just do the same and trump them close to 2:1 most likely.

So they will stick to US PR with winning NPD, and announce a figure, such as surpassing a million, if it is very impressive.

If they announce anything it'll be about U.S. sales only. PS4 is dominating them world wide, so i'd imagine they wouldn't announce total sales.

Yes but gloating might bite them in the ass.

Sony will easily counter with ww sales. Someting like congrats to our competitor as we are proud to announce 15 m ww sales to customers. Double that of out great competitor friends.

They didn't win last November, they won December.

change your prediction to include the "us only" caveat and you're probably right.

it never ceases to amaze me how xbox can be last place world wide but ms trumpets the one region they do well in like it makes them the biggest thing in gaming since 3D.

Well, they've poured massive money into the $50 retailer payouts, bundles, AC Unity parity and marketing, CoD marketing, general advertising, and Halo/Sunset Overdrive.

If they can't make a showy announcement out of this month, they'll never be able to make one. lol

Mind, they'll only do particularly well in the US.
