Am I the only one who was horribly lost when watching the FFXV gameplay demo? I can barely recognize Final Fantasy anymore. I only played a portion of FFXII and the last FF I played significantly was X (which I'm still playing). I have no idea what FFXV was and what I was watching.....

Anyone else in the same boat?

Define "way". Every entry in the Final Fantasy tends to be drastically different than its predecessor.

never been a fan at all of final fantasy, but when i watched that trailer i thought to myself "awesome!", so you are probably right. if it started appealing to some people it never appealed to, then it probably had a huge change it what the core of the game is

it was never going to be like the FFs of the NES and SNES.
but all FF games define themselves with new battle systems, settings, features etc.
At least it looked fucking amazing, my most hyped game from E3

My favourite Final Fantasy is VI, btw.
