Crytek and Electronic Arts have today released the public beta of Crysis third The trial version can be downloaded now for PC (Origin) and Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Arcade). We caught both versions and compared for their graphical differences. The result you admire now available in our comparison chart below. That Battlefield 3 Crysis 3 on the PC looks much better than on the Xbox 360, it can be seen already at first glance. The Xbox 360 version of Crysis 3 acts partly blurred and muddy.

This is noticeable especially in the vision. The weaknesses in the texture resolution of the Xbox 360 version of the developer appeared to be attempting to cover up with blur effects

360 looks more blurry

Well it's a beta and it's the multiplayer mode.
So there is still room for improvement for the campaign.

Today is the Crysis 3 beta? Downloading*

The results make sense given the 360 version has lower resolution assets (relative to the PC version) being output at a lower resolution (relative to the PC output). Both will add various levels of blur to the apparent blur the 360 version has in these shots. The interesting thing to take away is the tidy-ness that SMAA provides on the 360 as an anti-aliasing solution. Even though the pictures are crazy zoomed in, you don't see a whole lot of shimmer or jaggies. The SMAA implementation will also add some blurring to assets but it's not any more than FXAA/Morphological anti-aliasing solutions would add.

SMAA is great. I use it in Crysis and Crysis 2 via injector, because it lets me turn up more effects intead of using the more performance hog MSAA. While still providing decent AA. If you see comparison pics of SMAA vs FXAA the blur is a whole lot less in MSAA.

If anyone is having SLI issues, download the latest GeForce drivers.Apparently, the fix is substantial!

Or get an Xbox 360?

Looks great for a beta of the MP portion on a console that released over 7 years ago.

Not really surprising. I'm still waiting for a great Crysis story. Once it gets that, the game should take off by word of mouth.

Lol, pretty much. It's about perspective. I question whether or not I would have even noticed how blurry the console version was had I not seen the PC version. Something tells me I'd be blissfully ignorant.
