Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a giant download on Wii U

It's a good thing the Wii U supports external USB hard drives, because downloading Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will eat up half of a Premium's onboard storage, and will be impossible on the stock Basic model.

The downloadable version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will take up 16.7 GB of space, Namco Bandai revealed. It's currently unclear how much of that storage is reserved for Star Fox costumes. The eShop version will also be cheaper in Japan: ¥6,280 ($79) versus ¥6,980 in stores. This differs from the 3DS eShop, where games are priced similarly to their retail versions; Nintendo of America hasn't announced any pricing details for the Wii U eShop.

I bet all those Mario/Zelda stuff took up more 10 GB.

Wasn't the max size of a Wii game something like 8.7 GB?

Love and tolerate.

what is takken tag?
you need to fix the tittle...

why is this some kind of news? we all know that the game disc for wii U holds up to 25 GBs and that some games these days are that big... so no surprise that most of the DL version of retail games won't fit the internal memory. use it for small games and save files... that was what i would do if i was going to buy a wii U.

It's still really wierd because the game fits on one Xbox 360 disc.  I have trouble believing that the extra Nintendo costumes and possibly higher-resolution textures would nearly double the amount of space the game takes up.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Well, I'll be investing in a 100-120 GB hard drive failrly soon then. I doubt I'll buy more than a handful of large games digitally.

well.. it really makes sense to launch a 12gb/32GB console.. when you have games that take up more than 10GB of space on the HDD..

they will more than likely x10 the HDD space for Wii u within the next couple of years.. if they really want to push the nintendo network and want to compete with a similar service to PSN/XBL

Bloody hell, that's big!

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

^WiiU works with external hard drives, problem solved.

Above comment isn't for you TripleMMM.

Not planning to get this game but I imagine a lot of other games will be this size or bigger. No problem for me since I recently bought a 1 TB external HDD, so I'm pretty much set.
