Nintendo are victims of their own success. There was no way they could have maintained 2008, or even 2009-like sales for long. Look at the batshit numbers both Wii and DS HW and SW were pulling back in 2008. The 3DS isn't coming even remotely close to either of those, at least not in the USA.

We can pinpoint this directly back to the announcement of Wii Fit. That is where the blame squarely lies.

Actually the 3ds has surpassed the ds in every way in every region for the first year.............hardware sales, software sales, speed sales, it doesnt matter...........

In 2011 nintendo sold the most hardware and software in the world.

The Wii has been a huge portion of this generation's revenue, so of course the Wii decline is going to affect the overall. Nintendo have moved their teams to the 3DS and Wii U and third parties completely dropped the ball with the Wii, so there is no big software left. This is pretty much a no brainer statement.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. The 3DS is through the roof right now, and we have yet to see Wii U software. It is conceivable that Nintendo could only end up with Gamecube like software for the Wii U, but to say this now is just ridiculous. Saying stuff like this during a generational transition is just asking to make yourself look stupid.

Well, when Nintendo go under next generation, at least Miyamoto can go work on Angry Birds.
