Forums - General Discussion - Dr. Who (New Version) Who is watching this great show?

I watch it. It's awesome. I started to watch it a year ago when I stumbled across it on tv and I'm a fan since then. I watched almost all episodes from 2005 to today (thanks to space marathons). The two most recent season are my favorite so far. I'm really psyched for next season. (english is not my first language, do I use the word "psyched" correctly?)

Nevertheless, once you are up to date with the episodes, if you fell like it, I would recommand to also watch episodes from 2005 to 2008 because there are great episodes in those seasons as well (those that comes to mind are "blink" and "silence in the library" (that last one introduces river song))

p.s. I'd love to see some older episode, so if someone could make me recommandations with a way to watch it, I'd really appreciate it

i started watching doctor who several years ago. ive seen all if it going all the way back. it seems that the longer youve been watching the less you like matt smith's seasons. i dont think hes a bad doctor. if anything he is being held down by the whole "amy pond is the most important person in existence" thing. i recommend going back to watch ecclstons and tennents seasons.

Original Who > New Who

The new series are pretty cool but I really like the old Dr Who stuff. I'd say Matt Smith is my fave of the new 3. The problems with the others were a crappy budget on Eccleston and shitty companions with Tennant.

Doctor Who is incredibly awesome. It's definitely one of my favorite TV shows but unfortunately I don't get any BBC channels so I have to wait until the new shows (hopefully) come to Netflix.

You could just do what I always do, either watch on Justin.tv or pirate, when it airs. Personally I love Dr Who, but thanks to my friend who obsesses over it, I now act calm about it, instead of being an annoying fanatic.

I have been watching them all recently, one of the few TV series I go out of my way to watch. It is a shame that the series' are so short (14 epsiodes split into two 7 episode halfs a few months apart) because it is one of the best programmes out there. Can't wait for the christmas special.

I really liked David Tennant's 'Doctor Who' but I must say of the newer series (2005 onwards) Matt Smith is by far the best, and to think I was apprehensive when they announced him as the next Doctor Who. Can't comment on earlier portrayals though as I have only watched the new ones.

EDIT: Anybody interested a few fairly decent, official, Adventure games telling short extra stories can be found here

Are you trying to say something about me making this thread? :P

Anyone every watch the original one that was on forever? Was that anywhere near as good as the new one?

Nah, trust me this guy has nothing on anyone!~ Actually this happens to everything he and I like. I think it is more to do with him! :P

the old doctor who in my opinion is better than the new doctor who. peter davidson is my favorite, up there with tom baker and david tennent.

Yeah, the new Who is good, but Tom Baker is by far better than anyone else in my opinion.

Haven't seen many of older Doctor whos but I know most are good. Newer ones, the change in direction with Matt Smith are good, Eccleston was good, Tennant fun but the obsession the program had with the clingy obsessed companions fawning over him was a joke. Companions from older series are far better, more diverse too, not just generic attractive girl or quirky sidekick. Series with Catherine Tate, I didn't like because I don't like her. His 'regen' was weird too, far to long and meaningful for what would happen, Doctor is fine. :P

I do like Captain Jack though, always great showing obvious bisexuality at 6.30pm Saturday show for kids. :)

Hmm, pie.
