no becasue thats where MC is going is to fight the flood. I should restated  what I said. It wont be titled Halo. The story of the 7 Halo rings is over. MC is going to Onyx. 

thats not true, the halos are still there---i can see what you mean now thou about the players still in motion...but what do you mean he on his way? he just drifting in space at the moment wait for someone to need him

Doesn't change the facts that the 360 has gained more momentum then the original xbox. Align the launches and you'll see that after Week 56, the 360 had sold 16% more units then the xbox, and as of last week the 360 add gained more then 30% on the Xbox. Those are healthy increases. In total, the 360 outsold the xbox by more then 3.5 million consoles.

The 360's competition was the PS2 - a great console with a giant library and a huge following. Add on top of that all the hype from Sony for the PS3. If anything the PS3 hype was a bigger challenge to the 360 then the actual PS3 console!

No one is defending the argument put forth in the OP, so you can drop that idea.  And the wording on the OP was beyond inflammatory and started the topic off on the wrong foot for it to ever be anything but flamebait or derailed.  Derailing it is the humane thing to do...like putting a dog to sleep when it is suffering and going to die anyways etc....

The idea of this tread for me, was not to start a flame war, but just to show how dumb some of the arguements used in real life are. This is a real mentalitly of some people and now the people that really use it, are now offended by it.

No, the humane thing to do would be to just not post on this thread, letting it die a natural death. The arsehole thing to do is derail the thread with kittens. As you can plainly see, there are some people trying to have a decent conversation, but that's intersperced with pictures of kittens. Clearly the OP, even though he didn't cite sources or make a perfect thread, has actually brought up something worth talking about and it would be much better if we didn't have complete arseholes destroying it.

It's simple. If you don't like the idea of a thread, don't waste your time, and go post somewhere else. Purposefully derailing a thread despite the fact that people are trying to hold a geniune conversation in it just because you think the idea is stupid is trolling, plain and simple. Take your kitten posts and put them in a thread about kittens. If the thread is stupid it will die of natural causes, and everybody wins.

The next halo game will be called MARATHON.

On Topic:
The "360 is dead because Halo is out" argument is getting tired. Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming as well as the next Gears and people act as if those games won't sell loads. Microsoft realized they only had a few big IP's and are now looking to establish new ones. So maybe Halo was the reason to own an Xbox but it isn't the reason to own a 360.
