Cool! Yeah I've heard good things about both those games. I'm not too keen on roguelites/roguelikes unfortunately so can't say I'll be trying these games out anytime soon. Balatro another good one I've heard, though I'm quite confident you've already given this game a spin lol. There's also Binding of Isaac. |
Vampire Survivors and Campire Crawlers are nothing like rougelike or rouglites. They have the elements but they have surely crossed into a new genre from the ones they take from. Ball X pit feels similar in this but it still feels rougelite. Honestly, don't hold back on Vampire Survivors cause you don't like rouglike/lites cause I never finish a rouglike/lite, I play til I get bored and always do, esspecially skill based stuff but these games are packed with constant progression. Vampire Survivors, whatever genre it had created, is easily one of the best genres there is. I'm not being hyperbolic, it'll not feel like anything you've played before. VS inverts bullet hell games, breaks all the rules and barely requires you to play the game but ends up being something that feels entirely fresh. There is a reason these games exploded after VS, cause they are easy to make, devs can charge little and it's really difficult to make a bad one of them but mostly cause they are so dopamine heavy that they WILL sell no matter what, someone coming off of Vampire Survivors is like a drug addict looking for a fix.
