Those are the 91 games I've beaten in 2025. Finished meaning I've seen the credits rolling, I don't go for 100% completion. Throughout the year I developed two major ambitions, one being to clear lots of smaller games on the Switch backlog that only take 5-10 hours and the other to tackle all those RPGs, visual novels and strategy games that all take up so much time each. I am happy to have cleared so many iconic games that I always wanted to finish one day like Diddy Kong Racing, like Portal 2, like Onimusha 3, like Paper Mario TTYD. The most accomplished I felt was when I beat Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the Gamecube, which I have started to play in 2004. It only took me 21 years to finish the main campaign! That was nice. I spent the last days of December with three more or less hidden gems on the N64. My job wasn't all too demanding in 2025 so I had a lot of gaming time at my leisure, otherwise this wouldn't have been possible. I still managed, after three years of being alone or having very loose connections, to find a new girlfried. She's not a gamer but she is okay with it. We had a some fun with Mario Kart and Yoshi's Woolly World together, but overall she prefers hanging out on her smartphone. All in all 2025 was a great year for me gaming-wise. I am quite happy with the progress I made against my backlog, even though I still keep buying new games. |
I get tou're going for smaller games and that's a good goal, variety and the spices and all but that is still one hell of a list.
