Freeing Halsin first helps a lot there but other than that you can leave and explore elsewhere and get more XP first. BG3 rarely locks you into a hard fight so you can get more prepared with other fights and quests beforehand. You can also try using Withers to respec since not all classes and subclasses are created equal.

Yeah, definitely gonna look up a build guide. What I find a bit odd over Divinity OS is there is such little options, at least early on and it seems Luke your character can do fuck all, like step a few feet and that's it, turn over and such little skills to choose from. On console they choose to go with wheels also over the way Divinity did it with the MMO bar on the bottom which was so much better organised.
