I might be able to do it soon cause Death Stranding 2 has me in that mood of a long ass game and I'm quite easily able to do an hour here and there and still progress. How did you deal with the Goblins? I read there were many ways to deal with them and people were amazed but I couldn't even find a way to poison them, no matter what I do it ends in an impossible battle and there is no way I'm selling out that first encampment. 

Freeing Halsin first helps a lot there but other than that you can leave and explore elsewhere and get more XP first. BG3 rarely locks you into a hard fight so you can get more prepared with other fights and quests beforehand. You can also try using Withers to respec since not all classes and subclasses are created equal.
