Well, the C in CRPG doesn't stand for a country but I agree that it doesn't matter. The J in JRPG stands more for the idea and philosophy that genre came from and not who it's made from. As much as a Japanese studio could work on a WRPG. 

Souls games basically are a mix between JRPG and WRPG. You could accurately say Souls games are more WRPG.
