It would be nice, especially now with inflation and tariffs, if Nin at least sold a SW2, console only, no controller, for cheap.

Put the guts of the handheld and dock in a Wii sized (or smaller) shell and sell it for a reasonably cheaper price.

Let customers choose whether to buy the joycons and charger grip or go with the Pro controller instead.

I really don't see how Nin loses with a move like this for their next gen.

There's potentially room for a cheaper home-only version of Switch 2, and maybe we will indeed see one, but selling a console without a controller could be seen as a questionable move.

The messaging, advertising, and box art would have to be super clear about that. Another Wii U type error would doom that SKU.

Right now for plenty, every dollar counts, so forcing them to buy the console with the joycons n grip for a higher price, and then buying a pro controller on top for those who'd much prefer it, doesn't make a lot of sense for a dedicated home console SKU, if Nin was going to offer it.

Just be crystal clear. Nin's done a very good job of communicating with SW2. The problem most have are the prices.
