News flash, you already are. How long did it take to 'enslave' human kind to smart phones ;) AI controlled feeds dictating and analyzing every piece of 'information' you ingest. It took what, 10 years to get people addicted to there phone feeds? Less.

Well that's just tech that is separate from us. Can you imagine the American right allowing brain interfaces like what would be needed for full sensory immersion... they can't even accept 5g which is just a generational leap on communications technology. I can see the tech being allowed under certain medical conditions but no way in hell is it becoming a consumer product anytime soon even if it is developed. Nah. Not happening until there is generations apart and even then the view society will have on the ethics of it is hard to predict.

There is so much more to consider then, if it is implemented it may cause psychosis or have other mental health effects, the first time a mass shooter who was a user of the tech, it'll be blamed on the tech. It could get released a few generations from now and could actually cause real harm to people's minds and then be regulated into oblivion. 

It's just to far a jump. People won't even wear facial tech like smart glasses or use that RFID pellet you can put under your skin. Now there is one avenue for it to happen, China takes on the world as leader of the super powers or becomes soul super power and yes, we'd likely have tech like that cause it's so easy to control people with and ethics seems to go out the window with the CCP. I for one would very much not like this to happen no matter how cool the Cyberpunk future would be at a glance....it'd be so fucking cool.
