Yeah, the idea that if you associate with someone then you become just like them is so simplistic and dumb but it also explains a lot about how some people live in such a bubble and become divorced from reality. Echo chambers make extremists. Reminds me of political talk shows with hosts that refuse to listen to their guests. Still, it's interesting to watch polarization at work. With a "guilty by association" mindset in a two party system, suddenly EVERYONE is either far right or far left. Absolutely fascinating.  |
