Is the PS5 PRO an utterly useless device at launch? Reviews are out now.

If they are saying it's a bigger difference than going from 1080p to vloser to 4k with PS4 PRO. They are lying. Alan Wake 2 at 846p RT mode. 😉  

Best thing to do is just go buy it at best buy/target/walmart. All of them have 30 day return policy for whatever reason you want. Just go buy the PS5 Pro test it yourself for a week or so and see if you like it. If not go return it, if you do return it, go trade in your PS5 at gamestop and buy a pro. 

As far as Alan Wake 2 the 846p is just the internal resolution. It doesn't really mean much when you are applying PSSR to it and getting it to 4k. That's the whole point of PSSR/DLSS. It allows you to lower the resolution of the game, which then takes pressure off of that hardware and allows you to push other things further. Meanwhile the PSSR/DLSS handles upgrading the internal res to 4K. That's why it still looks amazing even though it's at 846P because PSSR is upgrading that image. 

Already blew my budget, chose to get the base ps5 after the PRO announced at 800 euro. Gonna use what's left to add to savings for PSVR 2 or quest 3s or if the Switch 2 impresses, haven't decided yet. I find more avenues to games to be a much better use of money but that's just me. Plus I want the generation gap to feel bigger with ps6.
