I honestly really like the camera angle! It's not as high up in air as something like Diablo or Path of Exile. But it's high enough to where it allows me to get a better view of the area when I'm fighting enemies than if it was in third person. The little I played of Dark Souls 3, there would be times where I would get pushed against a wall or run underneath a large enemy and I suddenly couldn't see a damn thing and then get killed I at least can't blame anyone except myself when I get killed because I could clearly see every move an enemy would be making. Maybe the occasional environment hazard like tall grass may get in the way or when you're walking past a wall that has to become see through first, but that's very rare. So far my biggest critique of the game is the character creator is really limited in options (I'm sure that'll be rectified as time goes on) and it has real world timers. After a certain number of say, items crafted, you get put on a 5 minute timer lol. I'm like, this isn't a mobile game, why is this necessary? Hopefully the devs get rid of that mechanic because everything else about this game is top notch in quality. The game has some 3D platforming sections and the collecting of loot is very Diablo inspired, but combat is very soulsborne. |
They're in a unique position to fix that alright; it's in every souls and souls like aside from 2d but oof, I don't like the sound of platforming in a a game like this, ti's the biggest reason I haven't played Deaths door yet which is another souls like with the same camera angle.
