Perhaps it's the narrators voice and inflections on that specific game and tbh, I don't know enough about it to have used it as an example in the main thread and as for Astro Bot, I'm playing that game like I did with Rescue mission and aim not gonna GAF but you're misunderstanding the issue, I mean to say how you consider what others think of you playing the game regardless if YOU know the game is not childish.

You know games were just seen entirely as a kid's thing in the early 90s, right? Games were aimed at kids. Yet in Fire Pro Wrestling the main character commits suicide. Ending of Assaults Suit Valken. President kills himself. Mortal Kombat fatalities. Castlevania in general.  Sweet Home on Famicom where this happens to an important character.

Then the Shin Megami Tensei games with all the demons and pentacles. How about Hagane where a couple bosses look straight out of Bayonetta tho 15 years before Bayonetta.

So by saying that Zelda game is a kids-only game, I can say just by aesthetics these were Adults only even tho they were made for kids.  Yeah sure modern games are more broad but unless it's Disney Princess Dress Up or whatever or Paw Patrol clearly aimed at young kids with extremely simple mechanics. Where Zelda is more imvolved in gameplay.

Yeah, I did. Some people still see it as something for kids overall and something you should grow out of at some point. A lot less so thankfully in the past decade. I'd say we past the threshold around 2013.
