Well, the PS3 and the 3DS proof, that momentum can be turned around. It is very difficult and expensive though. And you're wrong, if you say games have no effect. OK, you said exactly: 'The fact of the matter is, if you are relying on a game you will be sorely disappointed.' As you worded it, it is right. The PS3 was not saved by a single game, but the games (multiple) did it. So that's the option, you didn't mentioned: gameS are coming might change the momentum (not a single game).
