We all know this generation began when Sony said so. So to the victor (PS3) go the spoils indeed.

Does not compute...what does this post mean?

Just what it says. The generation began in November 2006, and from then on Sony has sold around 3m more PS3s than MS has sold 360s.

That is utter bullshit. The generation started when the first console of the gen was released. And since then, the X360 has sold 2m more than the PS3. Deal with it.

Good job bro. Microsoft beat out the competition...when the competition wasn't even in the market. Average yearly sales the PS3 trumps the 360. Have a nice fucking day.

But When PS2 released a year before Xbox and Gamecube it was fair game?

Please. Nobody said this industry is fair. You launch late you pay the price. Nov 05 - Nov 06 PS3 sold a fat 0.

Furthermore, as a representative of the last place console, your right to say you count aligned launch sales has been revoked. As a representative of a console that is beating yours, I decree that lifetime sales, as is shown by vgchartz itself, is the standard.

FYI - PS3 was supposed to release Spring 06 but got delayed, Europe even more so. Sonys horrible mistakes shouldnt buy them sympathy in lifetime sales.

LOL if you think the original Xbox or gamecube would ever catch up to PS2. Don't compare a 2m gap between current gen consoles to a 100m+ gap to last gen consoles.

If the original Xbox was released first it would've sold more than the PS2.

Are you out of your mind? The PS1 built a fanbase which is the reason the PS2 was so successful. If you truly believe that if the Xbox had released before PS2 it would have outsold the PS2 then damn...You truly are blinded by the clear Microsoft fanboyism. Oh my god.

If the original Xbox was released first then all of the devs would've jumped ship from the PS to make games for the Xbox and Sony would've cancelled the PS2.

LOLOLOLOLOL. PS1 sells 100m+ and so because Sony would not have been first to the market they would have completely cancelled the PS2 even with the huge success of the PS1. According to your logic, the PS3 should have been cancelled. But wait... you don't have any logic.

Ok then, that is your opinion. The move from PS2-PS3 is much different than the move from PS-PS2. I can't really be bothered elaborating tbh, but trust me, if the Xbox had been released first then Sony would have cancelled the PS2.
