Forums - Gaming Discussion - Was it worth going multiplat? Tekken 6

yes, i think the tekken team was lazy putting any kind of serious effort into both versions. i think sc4 is a superior game in every way from graphics to online. i am debating getting tekken 6, if i see enough of my friends playing i might consider getting it in the next few weeks.

Have you tried it ? it's superior in every way to sc4 with the exception of clothes damage :p ...

sc4 was incredably gimped, they recycled the old animations, reduced number of classes, removed practically all story in stoy mode, didnt opt for any proper aditional modes, removed the special classes in create char,.... etc..

It didn't even have team battle !

Tekken 6 is far superior to tekken 5 in every single way and tekken 5 was superior to sc3 which was superior to sc4. Well this is all just my opinion anyways.

Check out my game about moles ^

Yes how true, but unlike Tekken 6, in SCIV i can create me in HD with the Create a Soul... however... i suppose you can tweak "certain" characters to the point where they can atleast vaugely look like you in Tekken art-style and then pretend its no big of a deal but meh... thats why Seraphim Jin = @#... :D

Overall i still say SCIV > T6, but damn i've never played a game in a good long while where i can be angelic-like character and slam enemys into the ground while grabing them from mid-air and then to lead up unto a 10 hit combo...

Stage man you talk the talk but you kicked me from the game twice, screw the lag! lets do this even with lag!!!

I never kicked you. The session shut down because of your connection speed.

What? really? hmm sorry bout that then, ah well when i get my own PS3 back i'll plug in the ethernet then we shalt get at it! who do you main btw? i main seraphim jin. (White Wings)

Damn....Namco is really helping out the news with this game man. Everyone is using the cheap characters. When I say cheap Devil Jin, King, Eddy, Christie, Alisa and  Bob come to mind (also the joke characters). I use many characters, not just one.

If Namco wasn't too busy being money hatted by Micro$oft then they would have found the solution that would have made their pockets and everybody happy. Released the game in 2008 for PS3 then ported the game for X360 and released it 2009. They would have gotten all those huge sales numbers from PS3 and also gotten the smidge of sales from X360. The fans would have loved them and they would have profited.

The trouble is, Micro$oft is too smart and too rich for the optimal solution to have been reached. Micro$oft probably paid extra just to delay the PS3 version from being released and also to make it so that both versions were equal. Don't you just love Micro$oft? Always fucking around with their competitor's customers.

Giving the 360 the left over shit isn't making everyone happy. Everyone from PS3 to 360 is getting the left over shit (graphically) from the Arcade version plus loads of online/offline modes and customizations and more to make up for it. Microsoft never paid Namco for Tekken 6, that was their decision. Microsoft paid Namco for Tales of Vesperia and that came to bite them in the ass didn't it?

If Namco focused on PS3 then Tekken 6 would be better than the Arcade version, load time and resolution issues would not be there.  Just look at Tekken5:DR on PS3, it's way better than the Arcade version.

360 fans don't really care about fighting games anymore because of their lousy d-pad and tekken doesn't have boobs like SC4 nor leggy babes like SF4, that's why were seeing the low numbers.  I think 360 fans wouldn't have cared if Tekken came out earlier, it's Micro$oft that's worried that they may lose a significant portion of their install base to PS3 if they allow PS3 to keep their exclusive titles.

If M$ didn't pay for Tekken, why is it that both games were released simultaneously when the PS3 version was ready by 2008?  My suspicion is M$ always muscles its way by paying or making some sort of iresistable deal to the company.

1. You are blind and a PS3 fanboy.....and I'll prove it.

Reasons:

- You obviously have no concept of gaming history at all if you ever believe a company who specializes their fighting games for the arcade (Namco) would ever make a console version superior.

- Since when has a hot arcade fighter even outside of Namco come out superior on console ports? Hell....even a beat em up game.

- The Mad Katz PS3/360 Gamer pads and Arcade sticks are superior to the PS3 Dual Shock for fighters. Don't say 360 gamers can't play.

- Since when was expanding your userbase for profit ever a bad thing? I think you're just afraid of Sony losing exclusivity. Microsoft didn't pay Namco a dime for Tekken 6, they paid for timed exclusivity on Tales of Vesperia.

Conclusion:

Stop riding Sony's jock and play the game if you are a fan of it.

why are people so quick to call someone a fanboy for stating their opinion?

i couldn't care less if the game was exclusive to playstation or xbox. i just want the best gaming experience possible. i KNOW that tekken 6 could have been a better game if they focused on one system. i'm not saying that it would be a perfect because some of the things they decided to do with it weren't for the best.

i just feel this whole everything needs to go multiplatform and we're going to try and make it the exact same game for both systems isn't always the best move. there have been third party exclusives this gen that have sold really well. i think companies are sooo worried about money that its starting to effect the integrity of the games that we buy.

At the end of the day, i'm a customer. its no different than going out and eating at a resturant. if they bring out your meal and its not cooked right, is it ok for them to say "well we're trying to get this food out as fast as we can to as many people we can. also, the meal you ordered is hard to make, so it may not taste right" HELL NO! you would demand your money back and never eat there again.

i guess my whole point in starting this thread was to point out some of the silly things these companies do. i find it funny that gamers defend their actions sometimes.

You fanboys sicken me. Since when can you expect a superior experience from an arcade port ever? The version of Tekken 6 you would've received even without the 360 version would've still come out the way it did. It's fanboyism that blinds you from understanding this fact. The PS3 version of the game was finished way before the 360 version. How naive are you guys? Namco will never sell out the arcade elitists to give PS3 a superior version of any fighting game they make.

Sure, why not? The only reason why people wouldn't want it multiplatform is because they're fanboys.

Everyone needs to play Lost Odyssey! Any opposition to this and I will have to just say, "If it's a fight you want, you got it!"

If they were smart they would release T6 when it was ready as ps3 exclusive and now T6:BR as multiplatform.

SC and SC2 were the only two technically well crafted games in the SC series. Soul Blade was too for its time, but it doesn't count. SC3 was broken severely (but had great multiplyaer elements), SC4 was horribly broken. Tekken 6 at it's core is a great game that deserves more praise than it is getting. The only thing I hate about the game is the rage meter and the weak online.

Thats just foolish. Who is going to fork out their money for two similar versions of Tekken 6 (one with more content of course)? Tekken fans most likely and the majority of people who bought this are newbs. Go on PSN if you don't believe me. I have yet to fight someone who uses a technical or respectable character.
