Forums - Gaming Discussion - modern warfare 2 will sell 25 million copies

Shio logic lesson 1:
publishers don't know how many copies of each game they are making,
publishers send all their shipments through black holes for fun so they don't know who exactly got their games and are waiting for possible money that may or may not return by those black holes,
publishers are getting mugged by retailers instead of gamers so be thankful,
publishers obviously don't know math,
publishers are making charity work by putting games on steam since they don't receive any money from it,

Obviously you haven't even bothered checking the financial reports of Activision. It is a fact that Activision only took into account the sales of COD4 tracked by NPD, Charttrack and GFK. It is also a fact that Activision uses those 3 companies to measure it's games in their own financial reports.

GO SEE ACTIVISION'S REPORTS!

Seriously guys, COD4 (PC) is on about 2.5m sold though (including digital downloads and everything else)

How do you figure? Imo, the PC version of COD4 will approach 10 million lifetime.

I even made a rough estimate that when Activision released the 7 million figure, atleast 2 million was from the PC version, not counting the sales from dozens of PC-centric countries and digital sales.

10 million as of June 08
13 million as of May 09

= PC version has approximately 2.5 million sales as of today. Not more !

But, but, but gaise!!! they aren't talking about the whole worlds!!!!!!!1111

The other 7.5 million are all digital edition pffff. Get with the time, PC consumers have evolved

Also Activision half the number of PC sales before showing them to the public for fear of the 360 terminator squads and the Sony ninja assassins.

yes cause we all know that publishers don't know how many copies of their games were sold by digital distribution eventhough they are getting money for every copy that was sold which is more precise than retailers.

i doubt Modern Warfare 2 on pc will make more than 1.5 life time. face the facts shio - pc gaming is dead if we're talking about mainstream games. it is big for all those niche market like mmos, racing sims, war sims, western rpgs etc. but overall is dead.

um that was sarcasm... >_>

How do you figure? Imo, the PC version of COD4 will approach 10 million lifetime. of course it will be selling for the next 10 years despite the sequel and the fact that it will be gone the minute new Modern Warfare game will come out or any other popular war shooter. just stop already.

Wii Sports Resort will outsell it.

"Success really is decided at birth, and your life will never be better than it is right now. Sorry about that."

not a chance in hell, will sell very well but not that well.
