gamespot are just a bunch of nutters!
who cares what they think

SSBB Code: 5327-2374-8112

MKWii Code : 3780-9266-6102

CoD WaW Code: 1376-1190-5157

How does a game like this get a 6.5 and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen get a 7.5?

Nice job Gamespot.

Now there's a good, professional review. I may not agree with all of what he said, or the final score, but you can't fault him on the fundamentals, unlike that GamePro tragedy

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Maybe...just maybe, they think it's a better game? Remember, reviews = opinion

Two of the complaints that I read in the review concerning the gameplay involve cheap deaths caused by enemies actually attacking you from behind and invisible bombs that you have to disarm. I agree. This game is way too hard. Give me all of my enemies directly in front of me without having to find where they are coming from.

Also, this shooter is generic because it is on the Wii. All of the other available shooters that involve aliens, zombies, and nazis are not generic because I said so. I don't have to make any other statements concerning this.

I hope you were being sarcastic when you said it was too hard.

Not comparing the two games but the original Killzone ranks low on many reviews yet it has turned out into a successful FPS series. Even the PSP game has many low scores but many still enjoy it.

Suda 51 games often get low scores. It's just a number, the read review is what should be paid attention to most.

Now may have been Video form but I felt both Gametrailers and IGN gave a more honest review. Gametrailers the most non biased as they always do even if I may not agree with the number score.

Most these reviews people skip to the number then bash the game or review or praise the game because of a higher review.

Read them first but of course the best reviewer of anyone is you the player. If you enjoy it then that all that matters. We don't need topics like this to carry out pointless arguments 15+ pages long.

Yeah, I watched the video review and he justifies himself pretty well. After watching it, and listening to his points, the score still seems a bit low, but the important part of a review isn't the score, it's what the reviewer says about the gameplay experience. Even though his score is lower, his review actually comes across as an intelligent piece, unlike the GamePro one.

While my copy of the game hasn't arrived yet, I don't think hiding in a corner and thinking the world is biased against you is ever really a good solution. I think it's entierly reasonable that the Conduit is, overall, an average game. It still sounds like there is a lot to like in it, it just isn't the end-all-be-all that many people had hoped for.

The important thing is (again, from reading reviews, my copy is in the mail), it's still fundamentally a solid game, if rough around the edges. The main complaints are on the story, art direction and genericity. For a small company like HVS, this still appears to be a very good game, and hopefully a precursor for things to come.

i cannot fucking believe they gave conduit a 6.5, and i'm not talking out of my _ _ _ , i've actually played the conduit and it's super!

transformers got 7.5, god's sake, it seems plain awful from the videos...

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

IGN gave Transformers a 4.2........see if you feel the same way about The Conduit as IGN did Transformers:

Closing Comments
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has close to zero redeeming qualities. I only say "close to" in case I actually forgot something, though at the moment, I can't think of any. Well, I guess the almost complete lack of Shia Labeouf is one thing.

IGN Ratings for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Wii)
Rating Description
out of 10 click here for ratings guide
4.0 Presentation
The story doesn't really follow the movie (for better or worse), the dialog is bad and the video screen doesn't give you any clue as to what you're about to watch.
5.0 Graphics
While it doesn't look terrible, per se, it's not impressive in any fashion whatsoever. There's not one thing that you would say looks good.
5.5 Sound
What little music there is isn't bad, but the dialog is pretty poor and the sound effects are very bland.
4.0 Gameplay
The controls are wonky, the action is repetitive and it's just very boring.
3.0 Lasting Appeal
The game is over in about 4 hours, maybe less, and there's not really much to come back for.
4.2
Poor
