Zelda games have always done their best in the West oddly enough, this goes almost without exception.

you do know the only 3d zelda to break 1 million is ocarina of time at 1.3 mill (and it sold around 7.5 million worldwide) PH is doing fantastic in japan.

Well even though its not doing bad , I agree that both the Zelda and Metroid series are slowing down a lot ... Thats bad because IMO both are way batter than Mario and Pokemon :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

You do realize that the sales of Zelda on DS is a massive UPSWING the series hasnt had in YEARS saleswise right? Highest selling zelda in yeaaaars and still selling and you pick NOW to try and label the series dead in Japan? Thats insanity.

Anyone that thinks Zelda is dying in Japan hasn't looked the sales of prior titles. Zelda has never been as popular in Japan as it has been in the West.

just wait for Zeldoctober.

Not too good for a high profile Nintendo first party game on the DS, but this is Zelda we're talking about here. As the charts show the series has never really done all that well over in Japan.

The only Zelda games to beat a million in Japan have sold over four million worldwide, so I guess this is a very good sign of things to come. =P

Wow ... only one Zelda game has ever had more than half as many sales in Japan as in the US ...

I have the most epic death scene ever in VGChartz Mafia.  Thanks WordsofWisdom!

It's official...the Zelda series is dead in Japan.

According to VGChartz, PH has sold only 770,000 copies in Japan. For a Nintendo made DS game that's very low, and it doesn't seem to be selling too much anymore. (I think it'll only sell like 150,000 or so more in it's lifetime)

I hope Link's Crossbow Training isn't Nintendo's answer to poor Zelda sales in Japan...

Only? ONLY? It has sold more than TP already. And it has tremendous legs. Zelda has been a decreasing series long time now, everybody knows that; PH went higher that TP; It has revived the interest a bit to the japanese.

And how are Nintendo, togepi and Okami connected?

It has sold well, but it's a DS title, with approximately 18 million userbase, versus Wii with 3 or so million.

Oh, and they're all awesome. That's what.

Glad to see you posting Togepi.

Zelda has a very much old school Western feel to it.  Mix an old school Western with Lord of the rings... instant success.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

This just in, Zelda still not as popular as Mario in Japan. News at ten.
