Capcom's versus mode is now available and weighs in at a massive 1.86 MB which for those of you speculating, confirms that the data is most likely already on the disk. What are you waiting for, get downloading.

certainly does sound like game data is already on disc, but capcom know that people will pay for it anyways. what a cash-in ripp off.

Unneeded microtransactions are still a dick move, but what can you do, it's Capcom.

you would have thought a versus mode would be part of the game from retail launch but this is stupid.

i think the 1,86 meg is just blank space i doubt it does anything, but microsoft and sony wont mind coz they will make cash of it anyways.

i thought EA were the worst at microtransactions on thier games(check live or psn shops) but this takes the piss.

That's infuriating. Really, completely, totally infuriating. Unless versus mode really is made efficiently enough to be crammed into less than 2 megs, this is classic nickel and diming. Ridiculous.

That's pretty sad. Letting people play 60 euros for a game and then letting them pay another 5 euros to 'activate' stuff that's already on the disk. XD... I'm not buying that! Patch it or leave it!

It's definitely not on the disc... Well, the maps and such are but the code isn't. Does it offer any 'new' maps?

Anyway, that's pretty cheap. And I don't mean the price (I don't even know it), I mean Capcom's attitude. It would probably have taken them a day at maximum to put in a DM mode (or whatever it is) in the original game and now they're selling it. After all, it's only new rules for multiplayer.

You wouldn't get this rubbish on Wii. Nintendo are against microtransactions for this exact reason.
