Wow, amazing work. I would prefer if you put games on the list that people recommend, instead of metacritic score (example Castlevania Judgment, Dewy's Adventure, DBZ Tenkaichi 3), but anyway, amazing work.

Oh yeah... this thread is more or less something that I've been working on on another site. Since there's just me over there with a community that more or less doesn't care, all I had to go by was MC & GR.

As you can see, GameRankings was my main method to place a title on the Recommendation Thread. However, I'd much rather have games that are recommended by those who really love their hobby: the good ol' VGC Wii Community.

I've got a couple of questions for you guys:

  • 10 games per "genre"? More? Less? Exceptions?
  • Is the Date needed since it's only for America releases? Should I put down all dates?
  • Are MC and GR needed? If not, should they still be there for refrence?
  • Should games be placed in alphabetical order or by score? Something else?

EDIT: Huzzah, we're now stickied! Thanks to Nordlead and Kitler for their support.

I say dump the review scores. If someone really cares about them they would have already gone to Metacritic/Game Rankings and looked up the list of top rated Wii games. (And proceeded to explain why even those games are no good. =P)

Small descriptions of what the game’s about, and who might like it for whatever reason would be better. We could probably all pitch in writing them and you can edit whichever ones work as you go.

cool thread smeags

Grest thread.

In response to your questions:

Don't limit how many games per genre, just list good games, if there 5, so be it. 18? Thaat's ok too.

Year of release is actually helpfull to some.

MC and GR are ok, but I'd link to VGC reviews.

I think games should be placed by similarity within the genre, not by score ar filed aphabetically. For example Kororpina would go next to Marble Saga (which needs to be added :)) My Fitness coach or EA Active next to Wii-Fit. Make sense?

All in all, looks fantastic.

BAM! There it is!

1. Yeah, that sounds good. I was aiming for 10, but that will not suffice as we continue to get some great games. The sky is the limit.

2. Alrighty, I'll just put down the year the game released for all three markets.

3. Yeah, I do believe that MC and GR can and are useful in some ways. Are they the best/only way to recommend a game? Heck no, but they still have their uses.

4. That makes sense. Have Okami and TP close by while NMH and MW are similar as well. We'll see how that goes.

@BrainBox

Yeah, this thread has little to no character right now. Just hard numbers and links. I really want this to be a thread unique to VGChartz in that its community has a say in what's in and why. User written blurbs is a great idea. I really want this to be a thread where all Wii fans have a say.

I'll be adding this to the OP so fans know what to do. If you have a game that you would like to recommend, I'd really like to know why you love the game so much. Write down a little blurb (be as concise as possible) telling others why the game should be recommended. I'd like as many members recommending as possible, so try to let others tell why they love a game. Same thing goes with games I already have, if you love it... write about it!

Also, I like your idea for similar titles (sequels and such) being grouped together. As many great games as there are... I would rather have someone not have their brain explode from so much information. I'll see what I can do about it.

You're just jealous that Knuckles wasn't in Sonic Unleashed.

Under WiiWare, I'd definitely add that one game where you control special wind powers... Ahhhhhhhhh I forgot the name of it.... It was really hyped up before it came out though, and I really enjoyed playing it on my friend's system. Worth a mention?

I like to pretend he's in it.

Oh, if you can tell, I'm starting to keep games that are obvious recommendations. Don't worry, the game that I've deleted or haven't put up yet can still be recommended. I just want to start on a clean slate with this.

(Don't worry, Unleashed will be up in no time )
