I really wish NOA would have let "New Play Control! Pikmin 2" come to America... sad face.

This X 1000

I have no evidence to support this, but for once I think Nintendo's overseeing main division, not NoA are to blame for the US not getting NPC Pikmin 2.  I think they called an end to the NPC series, preventing localisations for the remaining games, such as Chibi Robo; maybe NPC MP 1 and 2 were put in a collection with MP3 to bypass this order.

Further speculation, but maybe NoA wanted NPC Pikmin 2 released closer to Pikmin 3's release (when it was still planned for Wii), and they just held off from initially localising it, then being bound by the possible cancellation of the NPC series.

Seems like a plausible situation. I know Nintendo put an end to several "new" game lines not too long ago so this could have been one of them. What they should do is release a Collectors edition of Pikmin with 1,2, and 3. Then make 1 and 2 remastered in HD! ^_^

As for 2012: Xenoblade Chronicles... and... uh... yeah it's time for Wii U.

Rhythm Heaven's pretty fun, especially for its reduced price point. But...your point is taken. :-/

No min. recommendations, quality checks, etc... ? Yippie! :D

It's a fun little party game, kids (and not so kids) love the open world feature. My three year old nephew kept going back to the horseback ridding day after day, after day, during the holidays.

Well quality checks are of course important in determining whether a game is a... er... quality product. But I've heard great things about Go Vacation. ^_^

Another update:

  • Prince of Persia: Rival Swords under Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (Action/Action-Adventure)
  • Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (Action/Action-Adventure)
  • Tomb Raider: Underworld under Tomb Raider: Anniversary (Action/Action-Adventure)
  • Dewy's Adventure (Platform)
  • Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon (RPG/Action-RPG)
  • NHL 2K11 (Sports/Racing)
  • Wii Fit under Wii Fit Plus (Sports/Racing)
  • Wii Sports under Wii Sports Resort (Sports/Racing)
  • Little bit of clean-up.

So I've been making a bunch of tweaks and changes to this thread, mostly that things are all said and done as far as the Wii goes (of course there will be some upcoming games like Epic Mickey 2 and... um... Just Dance 4). You've had a great run little guy, but now it's time for the Wii U to shine.

Luckily for the Wii U it's backwards compatible, which makes this thread a great reference point going ahead!

Changes:

  • Going back to where each game gets its own banner, even if it's a previous entry in a running franchise. A great game is a great game, regarless of when it came out.
  • I've been slaving away at adapting to the new banner system at GameWise. As you can see I'm not finished yet... but there ya go.
  • Lots of new games have been added, games that I've missed over the years. This is my last big update, but there's always room for a new recommendation or two!

So yeah... back to work!

This is a great thread! Some of my favourite games of all time on are on Wii - you just have to look past all the shovelware and find the gold of nearly every genre. I recommend Zak and Wiki for the Puzzle/art genre if that hasn't been said already

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Thanks my good sir. ^_^

As for Zack & Wiki, it is indeed up there in the "Adventure" category.
