Forums - Gaming Discussion - Has Square Enix Lost Their Mind?

umm theyre just trying to release as many games as possible to generate sales.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Hmm, was Square still just Square when they made Golden Sun? I really enjoyed that game.

Yeah, I finally have a sig.

Camelot made Golden Sun.... not Square.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

The best square-enix games this generation are mostly found on the handhelds. The main console games are really lame this cycle though. It's as if they're cashing in on their name selling games these days.

I'm also tired of old games being rereleased with a few new cut scenes. - just one of my pet peeves

Whoa, now.  You're saying that other companies also make JRPGs?  Frightening!

Jajajajajaja... Exactly, i remember a friend that was convinced that Square Enix made Persona 3...

They lost their mind weekly. It's a weekly thing to remind them that they've lost their mind :)

Not a day goes by without someone going waaah waaah about squeenix.

Well, what can I say. Suck it and get a DS, a PSP, and a 360 if you want Square-Enix games.

Did you even read the article?

Even Lost Odyssey felt more like an old-school classic Squaresoft/Enix game than the stuff Square Enix has produced the past couple of years.

Yup, they are complaining because SE is only releasing games on those platforms.  Actually, no they're not.  They're complaining about the qulity of SE's offerings across all platforms.

I disagree with the article in many ways, however.  FFXII isn't bad by any means.  It's just different.  As for Tri-Ace, they've always been pretty average in my opinion.  I will agree that the Last Remnant seems to be a pretty bad game, however.

I'm removing you from my friends list.

Actually MM, go back up and read the article. It's just as bad as many of the other people that bitch about Square Enix over this same crap and leave out key parts of where SE's software is.

Find me where in that article the 360 RPGs are mentioned. Quite frequently right?

Show me where the PSP is mentioned. It's there front and center.

Show me where the article mentions the Wii. Oh look, it got a small mention because it has a small output of Square games.

Now show me where Square Enix's number one platform, with it's number one output of games, the DS, is mentioned. Oops. Guess they missed that one.

How convenient.

Have you even played those?

Why just mention the 360. As the OP is written, the same could be said about DS and PSP SquareEnix games.

Troll!

I only mentioned the 360 because on the DS and PSP, SquareEnix have better offerings on the handhelds from what I've expereinced and read.  Like for instance, the have the first two Final Fantasy remakes, FFT, and FFVII Crisis Core on the PSP.  Good Stuff.  You also have FFIII, FFT, and some of the Dragon Warrior remakes on the DS.  More good stuff, all good staples.  And what I've experienced on the 360 it's mostly mediocricy.  Lost Odyssey was great and Blue Dragon was very enjoyable, but it wasn't SquareEnix.  As a JRPG fan, I don't mind mediocricy from time to time in a mist of quality because some games are going to be mediocricy which are made up by the quality titles in a genre.  But in the case of the 360... (shakes head).   Whether you agree with me or not, I presented a valid point of view.  Too bad you had to resort to "Troll."  Examine your own heart before you judge others.

You are trolling because within the context of this discussion (the quality of Squeenix's recent output) you ignored the platforms where they have the most games and singled out the 360 with the intent purpose to troll.

Have not they put out mediocre games on the DS? Have not they put out mediocre games on the PSP?

I mean, we are talking about the quality of their games. They probably have 20 or 30 + games between the DS and the PSP and only 4 on the 360. You can try to twist out a way to justify your bias, but it's quite blindsiding oneself to ignore 90% of a publisher output when judging the quality of its games.

Which is the reason why you ignored it.

Because you were trolling.

"waaah waaah"

(your own words...)

You should probably take a look at your own sig more oftenly, if thats your only response...

It's not my fault that reason escapes some.  Because as you have read, I expressed a previous reasonable valid point when he accused me of being a troll.  So when I gave that reasonable explaination, he couldn't take it as expressed by his whinning.  I was just pointing out that he was doing the exact thing that he complained about from others.  I gave him a reasonable explaination, and then he whinned over it.  If you want to point out my "faults,"  I suggest you get to the root of it first.  Or maybe you're just pointing me out because you cannot respect and successfully argue my point of view either.
