Forums - Sony Discussion - Final Fantsy XIII is still Sony's secret weapon.

Basically, none of this matters. MS having XIII will soften the impact, and keep lots of people from buying PS3s, worldwide. The advantage, of course, is still in Sony's court, for that particular game.

However, the reason it doesn't matter is because the console war is pretty much over, Sony could eek out a 2nd place "victory" at this point, but I doubt it. One game isn't gonna change anything, and any "Secret Weapons" Sony had should have been used long, long ago. Too little too late.

Microsoft's secret weapon is outselling Sony with the use of marketing, pricepoint, and third party support.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Whether or not FFXIII is still an effective weapon for Sony is debatable. But either way, it is anything but secret.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

why disregard of a future 360 price cut?

Sorry but no. Most likely they will sell equal globally.

^sony will take japan and europe and half of the sales of the US. i dont think so.

Nearly as secret as M$'s last price cut

really sums it up well. Even with a Ps3 price cut M$ can lower their price even more. They were smart to lower the price so early while Sony. Even if Sony cuts the price M$ can retaliate with their own price cut making it almost pointless.

dont forget ff13 will be on multiple disks for the 360

we dont know if they did take a big hit yet, we will just have to wait and see.

it is, i know of many people that were gonna buy a PS3 for FFXIII(myself included), losing the exclusivity of such a big franchise is nothing small, and either way the victor in this was MS

yep, FF7 was 4 discs. That didn't stop it from being a big seller and enjoyable.
