Do you have anything to contribute here besides reposting whatever bad Microsoft PR you can scavenge from the darkest corners of the web?

ROFL @ the one about MS bribing someone to put Qur'anic lyrics in LBP.

And isn't it against the rules to start a thread and simply post a link?

I don't know lol. Worth checking out.

Substance. Content is king. Threads lacking content can and will be locked. Some tips to keep you and your posts out of trouble:

  • Do not post just a link. Links have context - expound upon that context. For example, Mario Piano Videos. Post a link, but also give some background on what the link is to, or better yet, comment on how Mario has influenced pop culture. This way, it's not just a link and run. Remember: the reader's interest is not only in the link, its in what you have to say about it, how you make sense of what would otherwise be a blind link (and a subsequent poor thread). The only exception to this rule is for game patches - bearing in mind rule 2, go ahead and get that link posted as fast as possible.

Wow, this is quite sad.

It's even sadder some people here (fortunately not many) defend Microsoft on this one, and even calling gay sexuality sick and perverted. Time for a permaban, mister Baggins?

Agreed.

@ Tombi: I still have a 3 month Live Gold card I got from the 20gb HDD/3 month deal, perhaps I'll test that out. Either that, or I'll continue to try and trade for MS points.

There is probably more to the story.  it reminds me of the person who complained Sony wouldn't repair his PS3 because it had a some dust on it.  Sony then released pictures showing that the machine had an abnormal amount of dirtt covering and inside of it.

Please cut this shit out.

Posting of crap like this I mean, we all know why ms bans that sort of thing and it's been discussed at length on numerous occassions before.

There's dimwits who think that censoring of any kind is against all that we stand for.

There are dimwits who think that censoring should be placed everywhere.

Then there's the sensible bunch in the middle, who ms are deciding to toe this sensible business line.

I haven't even clicked the link because I can guess it's related to gamer tags with dodgy words in being banned? Well, why the hell do you think their banned. Honestly you lot, you have a go at crappy media, then you fuel the fire yourselves.

This stupid argument doesn't have a leg to stand on. Xbox live is a community GAMING service, not a place for us all to demonstrate how homosexual, black, african or white we are or all the rest of them.

You know the drill don't play the tool.

maybie you should read the article b4 making assumptions...

A girl got banned because she put she was a lesbian in her profile and people hassled her for it... when she reported it MS said it was offencive to other players

Yeah I should have but everyone knows the subject area....

"We hate ms and they are horrible nasty censoring skum because they don't let you use words that *could* in wrong context be offensive".

Sorry, but when I was in school if I used the word "lesbian" it was never in the polite sense. Like I said, and this isn't up for debate. Xbox Live is a gaming service.

I would sincerly suggest this pathetic woman join a proper dating agency and not exploit Xbox Live for her perverted sad little kicks.

Just because homophobes like you use the word "lesbian" as an insult doesn't mean it's a bad word.  It's not.

We get it.  You're a bad person.  Lesbians aren't.  There is nothing "pathetic" or "perverted" about being a lesbian.  Stating your sexuality is not an attempt to get a date.

@all, how did this guy not get banned?

pathetic.....

well

Which is a problem?, when you register is read clean in the procedure of the service them go that are prohibited.

if you accept the rules of any service surrender and point.

In addition, I do not see needed of calling the attention with one go of sexual content.

For my paret done well for microsotf..

Frustrated people to another side.

the xbox live is for play,. no for call atention,..

/Thread.

Straight from the Microsoft Xbox Live Terms of Service:

You agree that we may also discontinue your access to the Service if you do any of the following while connected to the Service:

Create a Gamertag , avatar or use text in other profile fields that may offend other members. This includes comments that look, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate or relate to any of the following: profane words/phrases, topics or content of a sexual nature, hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled substances, or illegal activities;

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/LiveTOU.htm

So yes, this woman should not have posted her sexuality on her profile, as it is a sexual topic and against the terms stated in the contract. Just like people who use the words gay, homo, or any other profane word, you are subject to banning because of the violation of their code of conduct.

This is not some "unjust" action done by MS to alienate the gay/lesbian community, just a simple rule because there are plenty of people who are offended by it. Just as you people are hating on those who are "homophobic" you are being the biggest hypocrite ever. There is no law that says we have to accept all sexual orientations. It is our free will to judge as we see fit. That does not mean that we will discriminate and hate on them, that just means we don't have to agree with it. Microsoft did not discriminate against this individual... it was a simple violation of their Terms of Use.
