I was in Tokyo last summer. They played Street Fighter IV on the arcade halls. It was impossible to get to a machine unless you got three hours to spare. But dammit, it looked good. Definitly picking this up for PS3.

Edit: Actually was there a bundle...? If there was a bundle then I think the PS3 can outsell the Wii...

I think it has to be considered in context.

First week sales of Soul Calibur 4 in Japan was about 100k first week.

Virtua Fighter 5 was about 60+K first week.

200k for Tekken 5 in japan first week on a vastly larger userbase (PS2).

It will likely crack 100+K for it's first week which is just fine given the genre.

i wasn't expecting blockbuster sales in any event, so i'm pretty pleased with the numbers.

my copy is already pre-ordered... i'm sure they have the shipments in, i wish they would just get on with the delivery!

I think SF IV looks like garbage. The Japanese often know what games are good, but I think too many people bought this one on launch day just because it has been a popular series in general. Soul Calibur IV deserves more sales.

Soul Calibur IV doesn't hold a candle to Street Fighter IV. The first rule of a good fighting game is character balance and SCIV severely lacks balance.
