Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Any 360 owners NOT buying Halo 3?

I still don't see where I was offensive....I used two adjectives to describe someone, "stupid" and "wussy", and I only used "stupid" to quote someone. That wouldn't even earn you a dirty look from a kindergarten teacher. But I am going to leave you people and your hypersensitivity alone before I get banned.

Hey, he can hate on Halo all he wants...he has a 360, had an xbox, and played at least one of the previous games. The engine is the same as halo 2 for halo 3, so they can't have done an awful lot to improve it. Honestly, why are people getting pissed off when someone lists legitimate reasons they hate halo and won't buy halo 3 when the name of the thread is "Any 360 owners NOT buying Halo 3?" What were you expecting? Every single person to come in here and act like a MS fanboy and spout their love for it?

And yeah, everybody who posts anything negative about Halo 1, 2 or 3 just HAS to be either a Sony or Nintendo Fanboy, or just stupid. Pfft.

I guess that makes you a sony fanboy

We can all tell by tbe fact you also agree, it cant be much better blah blah

Not only did he not say he did not want it (which is ok of course) he dug into halo, and just mentioned everything he thought was wrong with it. If i see a discussion on a thread about a game, im not going to go in and post everything that i hate or could be possibly wrong with it.

Again this game is NOT OUT, so STOP JUDGING IT.

Understand oooooooooooooooook

Also it was his first two posts on the site, really strange to use those to dig into halo

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

"1. your a Sony or Nintendo fanboy

2. Your just stupid, ill rip into any game you like if you want me too, im sick of you pointing out every little mistake, and guess what most of that is crap you come up with."

I'm guessing you missed the part where I own a 360.

As for number 2, what will that prove? Will it somehow null all of my points? And if you really think that what I claimed is 'crap that I made up,' then I'm guessing you haven't played the series.

Also:

"Also the storyline is quite deep, but your brain probably cant handle it at this point"

Or I can't figure it out because they decided to put the key details into books instead of the actual games. Memory is probably failing me, but I can't think of any other games that used books as canon to fill up the series of plotholes.

"There is no need to read the books to "get" the games' story and you probably know that perfectly well."

You can't honestly be serious. The opening pits you in the middle of nowhere, giving no background detail about anything or anyone, and Halo 2 starts off... months, perhaps, after the ending of the first Halo. You'd have to be an executive to really understand the story regardless.

And I can't remember what other poster said it, but I didn't expect to be bumping an 'old topic;' it was featured on the front page of the site, so I decided to check in to see what's going on, and then found the response to my post.

Oh, one more thing:

Acually i have both games sitting right in front of me, cause if you have played the series, then of course the game is crap and has a storyline that only appears in books. Really now, if you actually paid attention in the game, you might see it has quite a story, and alot is to be figured out in halo 3.

You can persume anything about the start of halo 2, again if you have actually played the games, you would know he had just gotten back from the first halo. So because it doesnt have a exact timeline the story is off. It does not matter, no details were missed in the time it took him to get back, and frankly i dont think really anyone cares how long it was, except of course you.

Yes the books add details, why they added them, but the game itself has quite a storyline, again if you just follow it, it might make sense. While much deeper in the books (it should be), the story is still quite good in the games.

I add the your just stupid to be rather nice, instead of calling you what you really are for posting only on this

Keep ripping into one of the most popular games in history, everyone will surely like you on this site

Like final fan said, keep your halo shit out of here, and i say just go away

Halo opening:  'You are a soldier on board a military spaceship that crash-lands on an alien world.  The aliens you shot down are also on that world.  Go shoot them.'  That is not bad for an FPS opening.

Halo 2 opening:  'You are in orbit around Earth and aliens are invading.  Go shoot them.'  Ditto.

As for the rest of the story, there is quite sufficient explanation of where you are and what is going on.  If you want backstory like Lord of the Rings gives, you're shopping in the wrong store.  Books have hundreds of pages to spend on that stuff, which games do not if they don't want to alienate the people who want to shoot stuff.

Diablo (or Diablo II anyway) also had book spinoffs, and I'm sure others did as well.  Does that mean those games' stories were all inadequate as well?

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

The books might go deep (I don't know, I've never read them but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt) but that doesn't make the Halo games deep.  The Halo game stories are actually sub-par even for generic sci-fi stories.  But hey, thanks for the good laugh.  It's been a long day and I needed one of those.

Halo games are deep, what are the forerunners tell me, who are they? who made the flood, we know the forerunners did, but why, and who are they, where is this arc? You dont call those things deep? the books go into even more detail yes, but the halo games have alot of info.

Most of all who is this gravemind, we know he has something to do with leading the flood, but who is he, and who made him? Most of all he says hes a monument to our sins, is he talking forerunners, or humans? Is forerunners humans? who knows, its quite deep, and i would almost buy halo, even if it wasnt as fun as it is, just to figure the story out.

WTF is your problem twesterm, im argueing with a complete halo hater, and it seems you want to come in here and bash another 360 game. Stop bashing on me, play the game actually think on it. It is a matter of opinion, so im not going to dip into yours.

Stop being an ass

Owning an Xbox 360 without Halo 3 is like owning a Super Nintendo without Super Mario World. Your Xbox 360 will not power on unless you owned Halo 3. You don't own an Xbox 360 if you don't own Halo 3. Halo 3 is like the second half of your Xbox 360, to make it complete. Buying an Xbox 360 without Halo 3 is like buying a Blu-Ray player, but not owning a television. It's like owning a sim card, but not owning a cell phone. It's like owning a house, but not owning an land for that house. In fact, Halo 3 ties in closer to the Xbox 360, than the user manual. Halo 3 is more of an Xbox 360, than an Xbox 360. Halo 3 is like the power cable for the Xbox 360. Halo 3 comes with your Xbox 360 by default, and it's not bundled with it. Everyone is going to own Halo 3 in the future. Halo 3 is more Bill Gates, than Bill Gates. Halo 3 is more Microsoft, than Microsoft. It's against the law to not own Halo 3. You hate Microsoft, and video games, if you don't own Halo 3. You haven't played video games, unless you've played Halo 3. The eleventh commandment states "Though shall own a copy of Halo 3." Am I going to buy Halo 3? No way... Actually... Yes... I will... Maybe... After Super Mario Galaxy...

There will be a lof of X360 owners who will not own it but I am sure Halo 3 will be the game that the most X360 owners will own.

Actually, no, Bomberman for the Xbox 360 will definitely outsell Halo 3.
