At the moment the Nintendo Wii is selling outrageously fast, and is atop the best seller list for consoles at the moment. But I ask the question, why? The Wii is in every way inferior to both the PS3 and the XBOX 360. In almost every regard, technically it is considerably weaker when it comes to processing power, graphics and speed. It has a lack lustre games line up, and only caters to the child market. The only thing going for it is the price. But the price is between the other consoles for a reason. The PS3 is considerably more, but that is justifiable, due to the far superior processing power and games line up. The Wii's other strong point is that it uses its motion sensor abilities to create a niche. But what the marketing neglects to mention is that the PS3 has and uses the same less advanced technology. A PS3's SIXAXIS controller has exactly the same different capabilities than a Wii, but the vast majority of ignorant consumers don't even know this. An example of the PS3's motion sensor capabilities is demonstrated in Motorstorm, where you can tilt the controller like a steering wheel to drive, and Playstation store titles like Super-rub-a-dub, use the controller's motion sensor entirely. The main fact is that Playstation doesn't market this feature because their focus is on blockbuster games and the experience of the gamer, not a silly gimmick to rope in gullible consumers. Then there's the game line up. Yes they have exclusive titles like Zelda and Mario etc, but the only other games they market are their motion sensor games like Wii Sports and Wii Fit etc. All these games are only targeted at the casual gamer and the fact that they sell so well is an insult to the gaming community. Games like Wii Sports are prehistoric when it comes to playability and graphics and quite frankly don't deserve to be in the current market... |

Wow who lets these people write articles. I mean seriously what happened to screening for these people. Or at least an exam to make sure they know how to write. I mean you can't even justify it as an editorial because even then there is some form of analytical proof to back up the opinion. This is just assumptive, unjustified bias. I'd rather him just left it at the title because that was all we needed to know of his opinions because the rest is asserted like a five year old. I want to laugh at it but it just so sad for humanity to have this in its populations that it makes me depressed.
I can't believe he said the SIXAXIS can do everything the Wii remote can do, and blamed the "ignorant consumers" for not knowing this! Especially when the SIXAXIS doesn't even have an IR pointer so the PS3 can't even handle a technologically superior game like Wii Play where you point and shoot!

Nope, but by the time next gen rolls around, and Sony and MS will align themself more with what Nintendo has been doing this gen, the crying will die down, as most of these whiners will have realized it was for the better and now we have more of everything in gaming.
coz the motion control is fun.. it may not be accurate or ideal way to play certain games but its a lot easier for casual/non gamers to flap their arms n steer a imaginary wheel than to learn X+Y+a+B > > ^^ to perform a combo
plus the wii looks sweet n small..
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

a. a AAA 3D sonic title
b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"
