After reading half the thread, I am disappointed in how people blindly follow reviews.

Take this: Tales of Destiny, one of my favourite RPGs, got a fricken' 4.5 on Gamespot. But that is not going to make me like it any less. And I'm sure many people on here that have played it would agree that it's a great game.

Gamespot did the same with Star Ocean: First Departure recently by giving it a 6/10, yet I consider it an amazing JRPG. The reviewer didn´t even mention half of the game´s features and it seemed like she didn´t even bother playing the game enough or had no mood to take seriously a non-hyped psp game.

Gamespot is not trustworthy when it comes to reviews.  They said that SO:FD was a shallow game when it is actually the opposite as the SO series has been known for its depth.  One 6/10 review is not stopping me from getting First Depature.

I read the entire review. That has the be the worst review I've read since the Enchanted Arms fiasco. Like the Enchanted Arms review the bulk of the review complains about things that are part of the genre. He actually complained that each new town has the next level of equipment. That's a staple of the RPG genre, it would be like complaining about only being able to see your gun in an FPS game.

This is why I say the reviews scores don't matter but the text does. You can get a better feel for the game usually. It was obvious that the reviewer has a strong dislike of JRPGs and as such, shouldn't have been reviewing this game.

Unfortunately this reviewer was so biased its hard for me to even trust the validity of his non genre based complaints about the game. To be frank, I'm surprised this guy gave the game a 6.7. You almost feel his disgust for JRPG's emanating from the text.

Not even text of reviews are that important.

IMO, if you're need some pointers on whether you need to buy a certain game or not, you should read impressions (by people that own, and have played the game), preferably from people that liked it, since they give both pros and cons, as opposed to people that hate it which generally only give cons.

And thus, a 1,200 word eassy-review thing is reduced to 50 words which give as much if not more information.

Agreed. SO:FD is excellent.

Gametrailers FTW! Seriously that was unexpected. Actually a well done review. I wonder what the mean by Tales Of Symphonia save file can give you extra.

they really should bring this to europe in time for xmas. by delaying it to 2009 this game is gunna have to deal with a lot more competition than it would have done otherwise. deadly creatures will be another game which suffers from this. i hope little kings story makes it in 2008

oh come on it's Daemon Hatefield we're talking about! well, these days IGN Nintendo (US) is sucking a lot anyway.

I've got ToS only recently, but I haven't playet it for a while. I had to finish Killer 7 and now I'm playing Fallout 3 and kinda busy with other stuff. from what I've played (dunno how many hours, I'd say ~10), a lot of things he bashes not only are common to any other RPG, but also the original one. as I said, it's Daemon Hatefield we're talking about!

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!
